On the 24th April the Housing Secretary announced his plans to provide 150 million pounds in government funding to make it easier for people to build their own homes, whether it be commissioned, made-to-order or a personal design, with the aim of enabling more people to get onto the housing ladder.

​Following the Chancellor Rishi Sunak's budget announcement and our subsequent blog explaining the extension of the Stamp Duty holiday. This week we take a look at how the news has been received in the property industry and how this may affect the market in the coming months.

In the March Budget, the Chancellor of the Exchequer Rishi Sunak made two housing announcements.

As it stands the Stamp Duty holiday is to end on 31 March 2021. Many leading experts expect an immediate end to the holiday will lead to a downturn in the property market which has seen somewhat of a boom over the last 6-8 months.
