The Last Friday Club will be 2 years old next month and the continued success of the monthly networking club is the local business support in Halifax.

The club has 4 supporting partners that facilitate the activity, direction and focus of the group and that is Ramsdens Solicitors LLP, the Mid Yorkshire Chamber of Commerce, Begbies Traynor and our newest partner Barclays Bank.

A team of local businesses took part in a tree planting challenge with the Kirklees Grantmakers Alliance (KGA).

The challenge took place at Scammonden Water, which is home to the White Rose Forest’s "Trees for Yorkshire" project. 17 acres of new woodland will be planted with 14,000 trees by Kirklees Council in partnership with The Colne Valley Tree Society.

MYnetwork is combining new technology and tradition to bring businesses together across West Yorkshire.

The Mid Yorkshire Network – which makes use of online communications and old-fashioned face-to-face meetings – began life three years ago under its original name of the Kirklees and Calderdale Business Group.

Ramsdens and Hays Specialist Recruitment hosted the inaugural HR Club in Huddersfield last week and it was a great success.

Over 35 HR professionals attended and the verbal feedback that we got on the day was terrific.

Ramsdens are proud to be event partners of the inaugural Calderdale Business Conference, which takes place at The Shay Stadium, 24/05/12 and is tasked with creating a platform for local businesses to forge closer, stronger trade links with each other.

Hays Specialist Recruitment and Ramsdens Solicitors are launching the HR club in Huddersfield next month and we want you to join us at our inaugural event on Thursday 2nd February.

At our launch event we will be discussing the impact of social media on businesses and in particular on the HR function.

The club will be a forum for HR professionals to share ideas, best practice, ask questions, get answers, network and enjoy breakfast on us.

Halifax’s business community dug deep and raised almost £700 (and a further £600 online) last week at a charity auction inspired by the recent death of a much loved member of the Riley & Co Accountancy team.
