Kirsty is an Associate in our Private Wealth & Succession department.

Kirsty is a member of the Chartered Institute of Legal Executives and is a CILEx Probate Pracitoner. Kirsty qualified as a Chartered Legal Executive in 2011 when she predominately worked in litigation before transferring her skills and expertise to specialising in Wills, Lasting Powers of Attorney and the administration of estates. Kirsty is also experienced in the severance of jointly owned properties to enable families to put in place protection from care fees, when making a Will.

Outside of Ramsdens, Kirsty volunteers annually at her local community high school, providing valuable career advice and the experience of a ‘real life’ job interview to Year 10 students at their annual ‘Futures’ event.

She has also been involved in supporting the Will Aid campaign each year and in fundraising, with her local motorcycle group, for multiple charities including those that support the provision of guide dogs and injured veterans.

Kirsty has previously enjoyed providing her support to events run by her local mental health charity and has volunteered with a local community group which supports children of primary school age and works to raise funds and offer flights to sick and deserving children.

What are your career highlights so far?

"Early in my career I had the opportunity of working on some complex and large cases where I received a commendation in Court from a Senior Judge after stepping in for a senior colleague and I also had the opportunity to work with Counsel on a case in the Court of Appeal. The highlight of my role now is using my knowledge and experience every day to assist families in negotiating the technicalities of putting their affairs in order and becoming someone they can lean on throughout the most difficult of times."

What is one legal myth that you’d love to dispel?

"That formal Will readings take place where a lawyer sits with the entire family and they all eagerly listen to who has inherited and who has been disinherited."

What made you want to work in your sector?

"I have wanted to be a lawyer since the age of 11. I never had any other career path in mind. I always liked the idea of helping people through knowledge."

I personally think the service we received was brilliant, no room for improvement. Kirsty was very approachable and friendly and that’s what we liked about the service. We felt like we could ask questions without feeling that they were rather silly."

Mrs J W Smith

Both information and advice given was excellent and I would not know how you could improve upon this excellence."
