Today is #timetotalk day. Time to talk day is a chance for all of us to be more open about mental health. It’s a chance to talk, listen and change lives.
Mental health effects people from all walks of life. Often, people struggling go unnoticed and their voices are left unheard.
It’s really important that, as a society, we strive to be more open and honest about mental health and the difficulties individuals experience. By talking we can end the taboo surrounding mental health and let those struggling know that they are supported.
Our abuse team work closely with survivors who have been exposed to abuse. It takes great courage for them to talk about their experiences and the impact that the abuse has and continues to have on their mental health. We listen to and support survivors, ensuring open conversations in total trust, at a pace that suits them, and in the strictest of confidence. By starting to talk we can then focus on rehabilitation needs enabling them to rebuild their lives.
