Having joined Ramsdens soon after her qualification in 2014, Rosanna is an experienced Solicitor and having become a partner in the Child Law team, has established regional practices in West Yorkshire and North Yorkshire.
She has a specialism in public law proceedings, also known as care proceedings, and primarily undertakes work under the Children Act 1989. Rosanna is an accredited member of the Children’s Panel and undertakes the majority of her advocacy before the family Court.
Rosana specialises in:
- Public Law Children Act proceedings representing; parents; grandparents; other family members
- Representing children in public law and private law proceedings through their Guardian
- Special Guardianship cases
- Representing children under the Inherent Jurisdiction in the High Court
Rosanna provides training for her peers and professionals.
Alongside her busy and demanding career Rosanna is a Governor of a local primary school.
What is one legal myth that you’d love to dispel?
Grandparents don’t have automatic Parental Responsibility for the children and no right to make an application to Court. They require the permission of the Court.
What made you want to work in your sector?
I have always wanted to help families at a time which is likely to be their most distressing. I felt it was important to be able to offer legal advice, but ensure that I offer compassion, empathy and practical support.
