Rachael has strong equestrian links and understands first-hand the time, money and emotion invested in horses and ponies - whether they are cherished pets or a crucial part of your business. She worked on her family dairy farm before and whilst studying law and her experience enables her to provide bespoke legal advice in relation to:

  • equestrian wills
  • agricultural wills
  • farm and estate succession planning
  • estate planning for family businesses
  • agricultural and business property reliefs
  • wealth and succession planning
  • wills and lifetime inheritance tax planning
  • property and finance and health and welfare Powers of Attorney

Rachael understands the nature of the modern farming and family businesses, and the potential exposure to Inheritance Tax (IHT), and can help you to put in place a plan to reduce the liability over time by way of lifetime gifts or changes to the structure of the business. We can look at the IHT position of the business to ensure you fully utilise the attractive IHT reliefs of Agricultural Property Relief (APR) and Business Property Relief (BPR) that are available.

Rachael is recommended in The Legal 500, 2020 and is singled out for her expertise in handling the full spectrum of personal tax, trusts and probate matters, and regularly advises clients on wills and estate planning, lasting powers of attorney as well as trusts and estate administration.
