Mark is a Partner in our Corporate & Commercial team and is based at our York office.
Mark spent a lot of his early years growing up in Hull, focussed on his passion for rugby and following 3 years at Loughborough University, he represented England at various levels and played professional rugby both in England and in France.
On returning to Yorkshire, he attended The College of Law in York after which he trained at Langleys Solicitors LLP and became Partner in the Corporate Finance team in 2009.
In 2011, he decided to leave the profession and join his family business – a manufacturer and supplier of industrial doors and internal folding partitions. For 14 years, Mark acted as Managing Director of our Group which had factories and premises in England, Wales, Sweden and Northern Europe where he managed all areas of the business from sales and marketing to finance and operations. He also acted as the Group’s inhouse legal adviser focussing on all commercial, HR and compliance aspects both in the UK and abroad. Mark then ultimately sold the business in 2024 to a Private Equity backed Group and returned to the legal profession in 2025 joining Ramsdens Solicitors LLP.

Mark’s Career Highlights:
- Acted for the York City Supporters Trust on its acquisition of York City FC
- Acted for AAK International on its acquisition of the food oil business of Croda plc
- Assisted York Racecourse in its negotiations to bring Royal Ascot to York in 2005
- Acted for the management team on their MBO of Sheppee International Ltd
