Kate is a Support and Partnership Co-ordinator in the family team and has over 16 years’ experience of work as a Safeguarding professional, in a number of roles.

Kate worked for West Yorkshire Police for over 13 years where she successfully worked as a Detective Constable for the majority of her career; specialising in achieving justice for vulnerable victims of crime.

She has worked with a large number of victims throughout her police career including those who have experienced domestic abuse, sexual abuse, child abuse and Child Sexual Exploitation.

Her knowledge, experience and passion to protect those most vulnerable in society, has led Kate to work on some large-scale local and national cases of child abuse including those committed over the internet and Child Sexual Exploitation.

Kate has worked more recently for a non-profit charity, where she became an accredited Independent Domestic Violence Advisor. Kate is a confident and approachable advocate for clients and she has witnessed and recognises the destruction that abuse and trauma can have on a persons’ ability to gain the advice and support they require.
