Hilary Garnett

Hilary is a partner in Ramsdens’ Dispute Resolution and Employment teams. She qualified as a solicitor in 1992. She acts principally for owner-managed businesses in a range of sectors, including printing, manufacturing, professional services and health care, but also for high net worth individuals.

Hilary specialises in large scale and complex Commercial Litigation, including disputes relating to contracts, property, and construction/building claims. Her practice includes insolvency issues, shareholder disputes, property-related claims, professional negligence claims and contentious aspects of employment law.

Hilary has conducted litigation at all levels of the civil courts and tribunals, including the Employment Appeal Tribunal, Court of Appeal and Supreme Court. She also represents clients in all forms of alternative dispute resolution, including negotiation and mediation.

Hilary is a Solicitor-Advocate (Higher Courts Civil Proceedings), barrister (non-practising) and Notary Public. She is also a member of the Employment Lawyers Association, the Solicitors’ Association of Higher Courts Advocates and the Notaries Society.

She is a recommended lawyer in The Legal 500, 2026.
