Biography And Reviews
Emily is a first year Trainee Apprentice Solicitor, in our Court of Protection department. Emily is based at the firm’s Halifax office.
She worked as a summer temp in Family Law at Ramsdens during her second year of university. This is what lead her to pursue a career in the personal services side of law, even changing her final year modules to reflect this.
Graduating with first class honours in July 2025, Emily studied law at Northumbria University in Newcastle.
Being an avid reader outside of work and a slight history buff, Emily has a keen interest in weird and wonderful old laws. Did you know that it is illegal to handle salmon in ‘suspicious circumstances’?
What is one legal myth that you’d like to dispel?
“That pre-nuptial agreements are legally binding.”
What made you want to work in law?
“My main introduction to law was a Contentious Law Enrichment programme at college. I loved the back and forth and researching of arguments, leading to my law degree and ultimately my current position.”
