David is a Partner in our Employment department.

He is a Senior experienced Solicitor advising businesses and Senior Executives and has specialised in Employment Law for 30 years and is a Non Executive Chairman at Ramsdens. David also heads up the Business Legal Services side of the firm.

David has previously held senior positions within DLA Piper including as a member of the Global Executive, Managing Director (Europe),UK Managing Partner and Global Head of the Employment, Pensions and Benefits practice.

In terms of legal practice, David has particular experience in providing advice and guidance to public and private sector clients in relation to:

• Senior Executive appointments, severance, competition and corporate governance issues;
• Industrial relations issues and disputes (including recognition and derecognition) and collective employee strategies;
• Domestic and multijurisdictional change management and restructuring;
• Investigations involving complex work relationship issues including whistleblowing and allegations of discrimination and/or harassment;
• Partnership and LLP related disputes and issues.

David is an expert and leader in the field of Employment Law and has contributed to journals and the media on Employment Law issues.

He lectures to businesses and has assisted local and national charities in their own awareness-raising seminar programmes and is also a CEDR accredited mediator.

David is a member of the Board of Governors at Sheffield Hallam University.

David is recommended in The Legal 500, 2023.
