Ramsdens has advised commercial and corporate specialists Myton Law on its merger with national law firm Weightmans LLP, expanding it’s client offering.

A team from Ramsdens led by corporate and commercial partner Mark Roberts assisted by Kiera Firth advised Myton’s shareholders.

Hull based Myton Law specialises in advising clients across the shipping, rail, logistics and renewable energy sectors on all aspects of commercial, insurance and real estate legal issues. Its merger with Weightmans forms part of the firm’s wider national expansion, which also saw it merge with London law firm Elborne Mitchell.

Myton Law Director, Chris Thornes, commented: “We are delighted to be joining Weightmans. We have much in common and are confident of making even more of an impact nationally and internationally. We look forward to working together with our new colleagues.”

Weightmans Managing Partner, Sarah Walton, added: “We are absolutely delighted to announce these mergers. Joining with Elborne Mitchell and Myton Law will contribute significantly to the depth and breadth of services we offer to clients across the globe.

“Everyone is committed to a shared philosophy of delivering client service excellence and it is with that philosophy we now head into our new future together.”

Mark Roberts, corporate and commercial partner at Ramsdens, said: “We were delighted to have acted for the shareholders of Myton Law on their merger with Weightmans. It is incredibly humbling when members of your own profession instruct you and trust you to act for them on such an important transaction and demonstrates the expertise and experience within the Ramsdens Corporate Team. We wish Chris, John and Scott and all the team at Myton Law all the success in the future as they move forward under the Weightmans banner.”
