On Friday 28 September our team of superheroes took on a 107 mile cycle route across our 14 offices, starting in Easingwold at 5am and finishing at the Ramsden Street office in Huddersfield at 7:45pm in aid of the Laura Crane Cancer Trust.

The Laura Crane Cancer Trust invited individuals across the region to do something Spectacular this September and join the fight against cancer.

The super team, which included Jonathan Cornes, Director of Risk and Compliance, Rhys Craddock, Solicitor, Jane Holroyd, Solicitor, Katie Sharp, Associate Solicitor and Jack Ellis, Conveyancing Assistant, have raised an amazing £930 for the charity, smashing their original target of £400.

Jonathan Cornes, Director of Risk and Compliance commented: “Our day in the saddle and spending time with the other riders was fantastic. At times, it felt like eating all the food that colleagues at the offices had provided for us was going to be the biggest challenge, but we did our best! Getting to see everyone, and their enthusiasm for what we were doing, was really enjoyable, and the highlight for me was the impromptu and unexpected welcoming committee at Ramsden Street, at the end of an epic day.”

Rhys Cornes, Solicitor commented: “Thank you to everyone for being so hospitable at their respective offices. Whilst being fundamentally a charity event, it was also a great to visit each Ramsdens’ office and I felt encouraged by the kind words of support at each one. Also a huge thanks to Jonathan, Jane, Katie and Jack for all agreeing to take part and for carrying me to the finish line.”

Katie Sharp, Associate Solicitor commented: “It was great to be part of such a fantastic event all in aid of a such a wonderful cause. Cycling 55 miles was a challenge for me so hats off to those that completed the whole event!”

Jane Holroyd, Solicitor commented: “I would like to pass on a huge thanks for all the support at every office we visited. Each office plied us with cake and well wishes which really helped push us along the more difficult parts of the ride. It was a great day which was made even more rewarding by the fact that we smashed our target for the Laura Crane Trust. Whilst I really enjoyed the day and the team spirit from all of us, I was quite happy to be finishing my leg of ride at Brighouse after doing 65 miles. Well done to the others who made the full journey!”

If you haven’t already and would like to you can still sponsor the team at where you can also find a number of pictures from throughout the day.
