Join us in supporting the fifth Sexual Abuse and Sexual Violence Awareness Week from 7th-13th February 2022.

The week aims to bring together both survivors and organisations to spread awareness about the reality of sexual violence. Perpetrators of sexual violence are often excused whilst survivors are marginalised and criticised for speaking out.

The year ending March 2020 Crime Survey for England and Wales estimated that 1.6 million adults from 16 to 74 years old had experienced sexual assault (by rape or penetration, including attempts) and 49% of these had been assaulted more than once. Despite these high statistics, sexual violence is often a hidden crime therefore the reality is likely to be much higher. Clearly then, more needs to be done to combat such violence and encourage survivors in speaking out.

Throughout the week we will be sharing stories from survivors on our Twitter account (@RamsdensAbuse) and posting further blogs about how we can help survivors.

Our support of survivors goes beyond this one week. Our experienced Abuse and Family solicitors are on hand to give you the support you need. If you think you may have a claim for compensation or need a non-molestation order, fill out our online enquiry form and one of the team will contact you.
