The monthly networking event, held every third Wednesday morning of the month at The Media Centre in Huddersfield, played host to a fantastic Christmas charity collection at their November event. in aid of the Laura Crane Youth Cancer Trust. The event saw a number of new faces attending alongside some of our more familiar visitors, and as Christmas is fast approaching, the event also welcomed the Laura Crane Youth Cancer Trust’s Christmas gift drive. The charity brought along their festive trolley in order to collect gift donations for young cancer patients who may be spending Christmas in a hospital or in the middle of a treatment cycle, and the initiative proved to be a huge success. A variety of gifts were donated: from selection boxes, sweets and biscuits to bubble baths and soaps, jewellery, hand warmers and candles!
The Laura Crane Youth Cancer Trust works to raise money to support 13-24 year-olds fighting cancer, by funding medical and social research specifically into cancers that affect that age group and funding support projects for young cancer patients. The charity also provide support mechanisms to improve patients’ quality of life and time spent on hospital wards and after treatment, across 43 hospitals around the UK. The MYNetwork event hosts were proud to host the charity’s gift drive and would like to thank everyone for their kind donations.
