A practical introduction to a career in law
We run vacation schemes over the summer period, which provide the opportunity to actually work in a hands-on role as part of the team, rather than just shadowing.
We look for students who are able to commit to the whole of the summer period, although appreciate that you may have a holiday booked during this time. Successful candidates will have good IT skills and show a positive ‘can do’ attitude with a willingness to learn.
This is a great way to get an introduction to the firm and to understand the day-to-day life at Ramsdens, our people and our culture.

“During my undergraduate studies, I applied for the summer vacation scheme at Ramsdens. This experience offered valuable exposure to the realities of a legal practice. It was a great experience to work with Solicitors on day to day transactions and it provided a real insight into the daily life at a law firm.
I worked in the firm’s Corporate & Commercial department and over the summer gained invaluable experience by drafting emails and letters, meeting clients and receiving feedback from experienced Solicitors. This practical insight complemented my academic studies and helped me develop essential legal and professional skills.
The experience confirmed my enthusiasm for pursuing a career in Law. Following the scheme, I was delighted to be offered a place on the firm’s Graduate Entry Solicitor scheme.”

- Start dates are flexible across May/June
- Flexible contract end dates late August to September
