How much will it cost?
The Family team at Ramsdens is committed to Public Funding (legal aid) and at your initial free information session we can advise you as to whether or not you are eligible for this funding.
You can also visit the
Legal Service Commission website and use their
eligibility calculator (the calculator cannot guarantee you’ll get legal aid, but it can serve as a guide). If you are currently receiving Income Support or Income Based Job Seekers Allowance, you are likely to be entitled to legal aid. If you are working your eligibility will depend upon your income (we will carry out a financial assessment at your initial appointment).
If you are not eligible to receive this funding our solicitors will give you our best estimate of our expected fees to act for you on a private basis.
You should always speak to a qualified solicitor to determine whether you are eligible for legal aid because without the proper legal advice and representation you may not get the settlement you're entitled to.
